Wonderful Wednesday

Just received a few pics from a very dear customer of mine. Kris has been around since the early days of Homespun & Primitives. She has also brought her Mom and her sister, Kathy, to visit! I am hoping to add some pages to my web site to show what folks are doing with their purchases. Kris just ordered the Needfuls Bag, but added the Sunflowers from a previous purchase. What a great idea!

I'll let you know when I get the new pages set up. If you have made a purchase and would like to be included, just send me some pics!

Until next time.

Monday Night

It seems like we have had a short Summer, as school started here today. My little grandkids are starting pre-school next week. They are 2 & 4 years old...and both are excited about going! Seems a little young to me, but oh well. My youngest will be turning 21 around Labor Day! I can't believe she will be an ADULT!! She has always been my baby.
Today, was a very productive day for me. I accomplished almost everything I needed to. Still trying to come up with something really special for Little Mallory's Auction in Sept. You can read about her here:
http://miraclesformallory.blogspot.com/.
Any ideas?

Nice Day Today!

When we were going to breakfast this morning it was kinda cool outside, but nice & sunny. Bill mentioned that I would be wearing long pants, instead of capri pants before long. Fall is just around the corner!

Saturday's have turned into just another work day for me. I had three orders to finish up & ship for today. Going to the post office in a little while, but for now, I am watching an old John Wayne movie on AMC. This is something that I NEVER, and I do mean never do. But, I am enjoying it for now.

Working on a few more new items today, but not sure if I can finish them up. I have all this Fall fabric, but probably won't have time to use it all. Look for pics, maybe by Monday.

Thinking about what I can add to my Etsy store. I haven't had much of a chance to work on it lately, but I hope to add a few different things in the next few days. A lot of folks are doing really well on there. A great alternative to EBAY.

Until next time,
Shari

Thursday Afternoon

Today, I have been working on some new grungy
pillars. They are huge! And wonderful! I have added
a grungy battery operated tea lite and I just love them.

Also, working on grungy tea lites. So far, I have black, natural and burgandy. I think these will do real well for me.

Until next time.

Shari

Wednesday

Hi Y'all! It's such a beautiful day here in NC! A shame to be stuck indoors working on Pillows.

I wish I had more time to devote to this blogging thing. If you haven't tried it...you really should .
Would really like to plant some flowers this week. I never got around to it in the Spring & I have the perfect spot to plant flowers or something. Pansys maybe this time of year??? Or mums???

Gotta finish up a few Christmas items for an order and then off to the Post Office.

Until next time.
Hugs & Blessings,

Shari

PEACH COBBLER

This is an old timey recipe that I have had for years and years, but haven't made it for years & years. I'm sure some of you guys have made it, but if you haven't you really should try it. It's very simple & most folks have the ingredients in their pantry. (Unfortunately, I'm not one of the most, he he!)

Set your oven to 350 degrees.

Start with fresh peaches ( or your favorite fruit~ strawberries, blackberries or whatever)

Melt one stick butter or margarine in your baking dish.

Slice peaches and sprinkle with a 3/4 cup sugar. Ya need about 3 cups.

Combine with melted butter~
1/2 cup sugar
3/4 cup self rising flour
3/4 cup milk

I mix lightly with a wisk.
Then pour your prepared fruit on top. DO NOT STIR!

Bake at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes for peaches ~a little less time for strawberries.

READY TO EAT!!!
Hubby loves it with ice cream on top!! Yummy!!

Farmers Market

Hubby & I went to the local Farmers Market this morning! It was a wonderful morning to be out and about. Lots and lots of veggies to pick from. This is a sampling of what we got today!
I'm cooking the green beans right now!
Gonna attempt a peach cobbler later this afternoon. I'm not a baker, but I can follow a recipe, maybe.....
Until later,
Shari

the PERFECT TEA DYE

Shari's Tea Dye

5 Tablespoons Instant Unsweetened NesTea

1 Cup of warm Water

3 Droppersful of Pure Essential Oil, Angel Kisses (or your favorite)

1 1/2 Teaspoons of Cinnamon

Mix together all ingredients WELL ( I use a glass measuring cup). There will be a foam on the top of mixture. Allow it to settle before using. I use a new sponge brush to apply. I set my oven to 190 degrees. Line a cookie sheet ( I have one just for baking crafts) with aluminum foil. Bake your item until dry. I check my pieces often and turn several times. Do not leave unattended! But, you can lightly sand and tea dye again, if you wish. Store in a covered container in fridge for several days.

Cooling Off A Bit!

Well, I can't believe how this week has flown by! We have all been so busy with work this week that I am glad it's FRIDAY! Had planned to do more with the blog this week, but had 2 drs. appointments, the kids over for dinner one night, went to my Mom and Dads' yesterday with Cait to pick up some "stuff" and the list goes on and on.....

At least the weather has been cooler for a few days. Kinda rainy this morning, but the sun came out this afternoon. Beginning to feel like Fall in the mornings and evenings. I love it!

I managed to get a few things made for Halloween, but haven't gotten them on the web site yet. Maybe later, if I can get a decent picture.

I have been working on a new recipe to tea dye and grunge with. I'll try to get it typed up to share with you all! I have finally got the right amount of tea, water, cinnamon and oil. Think you'll like it.

Gonna watch TV and do some stitchin'. Until next time.....

Hugs & Blessings,

Shari

Fall

I can't believe another week has come and gone.
I HAVE to get a few things made tomorrow for FALL! Lots of folks are asking for new FALL Goodies and they're probably getting tired of waiting. My new wreath has done very well so far and my new sprays are doing very well!! My friend Retha (from Cinnamon Creek Primitives) came over yesterday and we tried to get some Halloween things made, but we didn't get much accomplished. I think I'll make a couple of pumpkins and maybe a doll and some pillows. I have purhased some beautiful co-ordinating prints and I MUST use them. A punkin do is also on the list.

Check back to see what I actually get done. LOL!!
On a sadder note, I found out recently that one of my craft malls are closing. My dear friend Robin has decided to move in another direction and close the store. It makes me so sad to think that she will not be there after September. I have had a booth in her quaint little store since 1999.
I suppose I will have more time and energy to put into my web site, but I will miss her terribly! But, I wish her all the best!

hugs,
Shari

Something to think about~~~~~

This was sent to my husband by a very special person~~~ our youngest daughter, Cait!

I love it! This really is something to think about!!!

1.) Take a 10-30 minute walk every day. And while you walk, smile. It is the ultimate antidepressant.
2.) Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day. Buy a lock if you have to.
3.) Always pray and always make time to exercise.
4.) Spend more time with people over the age of 70 and under the age of six.
5.) Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants. Eat less food that is manufactured in plants.
6.) Drink green tea and plenty of water. Eat broccoli, almonds & walnuts.
7.) Try to make at least three people smile each day.
8.) Clear your clutter from your house, car, desk and let new and flowing energy into your life.
9.) Don't waste your precious energy on gossip, issues of the past, negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead, invest your energy in the positive present moment.
10.) Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn. Problems are simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade away like algebra class .......but the lessons you learn will last a lifetime.
11.) Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a layman, and dinner like a beggar
12.) Life isn't fair, but it's still good.
13.) Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.
14.) Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
15.) You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.
16.) Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present.
17.) Don't compare your life to others'. You have no Idea what their journey is all about.
18.) Ladies - Go on and burn those 'special' scented candles, use the 600 thread count sheets, the good china and wear the fancy clothes now. Stop waiting for a special occasion. Every day is special.
19.) No one is in charge of your happiness except you.
20.) Frame every so-called disaster with these words: 'In five years, will this matter?'
21.) Forgive everyone for everything.
22.) What other people think of you is none of your business.
23.) Time heals almost everything. Give time, time!
24.) However good or bad a situation is, it will Change.
25.) Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends will. Stay in touch with them.
26.) Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.
27.) Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need. God provides, remember?!
28.) The best is yet to come.
29.) No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
30.) Do the right thing!
32.) Each night before you go to bed complete the Following statements:'I am thankful for __________.'Today I accomplished _________.
33.) Enjoy the ride. Remember that this is not Disney World and you certainly don't want a fast Pass. You only have one ride through life so make The most of it and enjoy the ride.
LIVE, LOVE, LAUGH.
Life’s a gift.
That's why it's called the PRESENT... UNWRAP IT!
Have a Blessed day!
Shari
