A sPeCiAL GiFT.....

Man, I have been having a heck of a time with trying to make a post. This is my 4th or 5th attempt. I have lots of pics to share, but can't seem to get them to load. I will have to play around with it....

A week or so ago, my Mom and Dad came over for a visit and brought me this WONDERFUL Cookie Jar. (Aunt Jemima, I believe) It was my Ma Patton's. I can hardly believe that Dad was willing to part with it. It is in excellent condition and it has McCoy on the bottom, so I'm assuming it was made by them.

I remember up until my grandmother passed away, it was right there on her kitchen counter filled with cookies. For some reason, I want to remember OREOS in there???

Can you imagine the stories this lady could tell? The children growing up, the grandchildren and even great-grandchildren had cookies out of it...................

I'm just so pleased that Daddy gave it to me and even helped me find a spot for it on top of my cabinets. Actually next to a birdhouse that my Pa Patton made years and years ago. He passed away in 1978, and it had been in my Mom and Dads back yard for years.

I was down there one day and they said I could have it. They had bought bigger ones. It found a home on top of my cabinets along with other keepsakes.

Well, I finally got this to work, so I'm gonna leave it at that. Be back soon....

MoRe VaCaTioN PiCS.....

Can y'all believe I haven't posted in over a week???? It has rather crazy around here for the past wek or so. I am still driving Cait to her jobs and we found out today, her car cost TOO much to get it repaired. So, I guess we'll have to come up with Plan B.
Last week our refridgerator died as well. What a fun time that is to get home from vacation and have to buy a new one. But, all is well now and we have ice again! Yipee!
I made yet another trip to my Dr. to get test results...low and behold for the first time in 18 months-my numbers are up!!! WooHoo! My hemoglobin was 14 (normal is 12), my iron was 37 (normal is 42 and up) . My ferretin was 7 and it needs to 100. I still have a ways to go, but at least they're headed in the right direction.

I meant to get more pics on here sooner, but in addition to all of the above, I had orders to work on and just haven't had time. I have read a few blogs over the days, but that's about it.

So, here are more pics from vacation....These were taken in Nassau at an old Fort....Charlotte I think it was called.

I'm bAcK wiTh SoMeThinG NeW....

Hello again! It's hard to imagine that I am posting twice in one day!

Finished this up today and wanted to show y'all! In all of my years of sewing and crafting, I've never made a doll with painted/watercolored eyes. This is my own design and I am pretty pleased with the outcome. I was pondering about putting her on Ebay, but it has been almost three years since I've listed anything there and I probably don't even know how to do it anymore. So, " Frannie " will probably be on my web site in the next few days.

What a week! Between working on orders, dr's appointments, picking up supplies at Michaels, AC moore and Lowes, plus driving Cay to two jobs......I long for some boring days of staying home all day! Every day last week, something was planned for me to participate in. Gone are the quiet days of sitting home and sewing. At least for 3weeks and 1 day longer. I made a deal with her to drive her for a month and then she has to make other arrangements. So we'll see!

As promised more pics of our trip......did I mention that we started out in Miami, then on to Cococay, Nassau, Key West and then back to Miami.

Sorry this is so tiny! For some reason, Bill's pics show up here really small. But anyway, This is on the way to Paradise Island....Do you see the the bridge-like thingy connecting the two buildings??? The rooms there rent for $25,000 a night!! Yep, $25,000 a night, with minimum stay of 7 nights! Can you imagine? The Miss Universe pageant was being held there last week and they had sold out of all the rooms!
