Feeling sooooo SAD....

I have sat down here so many times over the past couple of weeks to make a post....couldn't seem to find the words to say what I needed to say. We have lost our beloved Rufie Cat...he passed away in November. I feel like a part of my heart has been ripped out. Some days I can't stop the tears and other days, I think it must be a dream. He can't possibly be gone. It was very sudden and totally took us by surprise. Literally one minute he was fine and the next he was moaning in pain. I immediately knew that something was wrong and in 10 minutes or less we were on our way to the emergency vet's office. Unfortunately, he had a mass rupture in his abdomen and there was nothing that could be done. He was gone in less than an hour after he got sick. I couldn't believe it!!! Still can't sometimes....he was such a major part of my life. And I miss him terribly!

My daughter Cait, wrote this the day he died.....

Today, I lost a dear friend/brother/pet... Rufie, my baby kitty, was put down. He was my first kitten, and truly such an awesome little guy. I will never ever forget the first time I saw him, from that first moment, I was in love with this little black and white spitfire that could not decide if he hated me or loved me.... You will be missed so much Rufie, not only by me, and I really hope that your heaven has an always full bowl of friskies and bacon on the weekends. I love you buddy, and thank you for giving us seven years. Rest in peace.

These were the last pics that I took of him........ they're not very good, but that's ok, this is how he was. He was such a big boy...even the vet commented on his size. He was sitting in the chair watching me stitch pillow tops. He was always, always, always close by to me. And I never felt alone, until now...

I have been working on this for hours and have had all kinds of computer problems, but I wanted y'all to know what happened to me.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS and I have missed you all!

Shari, From one pet lover to another, please accept my sympathy. We lost our beloved dog a month ago. It was sudden, too. The loss is excruciating and we don't go a day without crying about her. We got another dog, and it is helping, little by little. I hope you will consider giving another special cat a home with you.

I am so sorry for your loss! 2 of my girls are getting up there is age and I'm already preparing myself for the loss that will be when the time comes, but you can never be prepared for such a sudden loss. There are so many animals that never know a loving home that at least you can know for as long as Rufie was with you, he was loved. And what a gorgeous big boy he was!!!!! Sending you and your family big hugs!!!!

I am sorry about your loss. Pets are family too. No matter how it happens, it is never easy. Especially when they are so young.

Oh Shari...I am so, so sorry for your loss! It was this exact time two years we lost our Whiskers of 14 years. It's so hard and you never forget them. We soon got another kitty and when she couldn't replace the void I felt I went out and got a second. Rufie was a beautiful cat! ~~Annie

I am so sorry to hear the news.

A pet is like another family member and some how, some way they know how to get us to love them unconditionaly. What a nice note from your daughter...

I am so very sorry for your loss. They are in so many ways closer to us than family because they rely on us for everything. I'm sure he misses you also and know you will see him again. I always picture my cats' heaven as a big open sunny meadow where they can run and play and soak up the sun during their naps. I pray for you and your family and hope each day gets a little better for you. Take care.

How sad I feel for you and your family Shari. Until you have loved and lost a family pet, you can't really understand the grief you feel when it happens. Praying for peace.

Dear Shari,
I am so very sorry for your loss.
I lost my cat a few years ago and I was so surprised when it hit me so hard. Like you, I cried a lot and felt a massive hole in my heart.
I wish I could make this time easier for you! :(

I am so sorry to hear about your kitty!! it just breaks my heart..we lost the love of my life in 2003 he would have been 8 years old...from cancer due to getting his rabies shot..I tell you it devastated me..I know he is in a happy place but I still miss is a poem I posted on my blog for my latest kitty that passed away this march just shy of his 18th birthday...REQUEST FROM THE RAINBOW BRIDGE

Weep not for me though I am gone,
Into that gentle night.
Grieve if you will, but not for long,
Upon my soul's sweet flight.
I am at peace, my soul's at rest,
There is no need for tears.
For with your love I was so blessed
For all those many years.
There is no pain, I suffer not,
The fear now all is gone.
Put now these things out of your thoughts,
In your memory I live on.
Remember not my fight for breath,
Remember not the strife,
Please do not dwell upon my death,
But celebrate my life.
Author Constance Jenkins
I hope it helps...I know we will see our babies again...Take care..;)

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. Losing a pet is never easy. We lost our 11 year old Yorkie-Po this past March to congestive heart failure...and some days I still cry. Sending hugs your way.

I just want to say how sorry i am about your Rufie. We have 2 dogs. One is almost 3 and one is 12. Our older girl has not been well for a few years now, and i worry every day what it will be like without her. Just the thought is bad enough. As someone else commented about the animals that never know a loving home, how true. Those aspca commercials always make me cry! You know he was well loved with you:) Sara

I see you still haven't accepted it yet, hope some of those tears have ceased. You know he is better off and he is not suffering. Try to be a Big girl now because life must go on and I bet Santa brings you another one to sit by your side while you sew and stitch.Hug coming to you from Va.
