ShARi's FRiDaY FaVoriTES

Good Friday to all!

Not a lot of time to post this evening, but wanted to share these with y'all.....

One of all-time favorite things..... My Mom saved this little outfit from when I was an infant and many years ago, my brother in law framed it for me in this fabulous shadow box frame. I have always moved this from house to house and never packed it away. I have always loved it and it has a lot of sentimental value to me and it always will.

Another favorite of mine is a picture that was hand drawn by a dear friend of mine when I lived in Hoffman Estates, IL. in the 1980's. Her name was Ina Rohan and she lived in a neighboring city, Downers Grove, maybe. I told her what I wanted in my picture and she drew it....She is the most talented woman that I have personally ever met. Unfortunately, we didn't keep in touch when I moved to Greensboro back in 1991. I heard that she moved to Alexandria, VA with her husband Michael (He was a colonel in the service) and three daughters....one was Stacy, one was Katy and I don't remember the other one. If by chance anyone has ever heard of these folks...point her in my direction!

Still lots to do for the Holiday weekend, so I'll go for now. Be back soon!

HAPPY EASTER!

Hugs,

Shari

AFTERTHOUGHT.....Today is my Anniversary! 33 years and still together! We didn't do much of anything specal, just went out to dinner. I couldn't think of anything that I wanted , so we didn't exchange "GIFTS", but we are going to do some projects together. After all these years we have shared so many special occasions that I have just about everything I want or need. And now we're to the point that being together is enough for us..............

I woke up this morning and wondered right away if it was going to be a productive day for me or not....Ya never really know about Thursdays, it could go either way. Right away after Bill left for work and I cleaned up the breakfast dishes (yes, I cooked breakfast! He's on medication and needs to eat before he takes it.) I immediately got to work on a couple of orders and realized that I was missing a stencil. So.....I went on a hunt for it! There's several different ones that I use for signs and such, but I try to keep them all on nails in my craft room. Finally, I find the one that I needed and I have a huge mess staring at me! It wasn't on my list for today, but I decided to organize ALL of my stencils. I hammered little nails behind the door and organized every single stencil.....Today's post is about the ones that I didn't want any longer. There's several here and some, but not all have been used. Some are old, some are new, some were bought at craft stores, some were ordered custom and some were purchased from ebay. All still have lots of good in them and I found out recently that 91% alcohol will clean them. I want to sell them all together and will take 16.00 (or best offer) for all. 14 stencils plus the Upper case alphabet (8 individual )and 2 sets of 5 seasonal, mini ones. Prefer Pay Pal and Shipping is extra. Email me if you're interested or have any questions:

That's about it for now.

TrAsH to TrEaSuRe....

Can y'all believe that Wednesday is almost over already??? We have had such a busy week so far. Bill was home all day Monday with me. And yesterday he was scheduled for a couple of tests. We ended up spending hours and hours at the Drs. office . I told him tonight that I think it was a lot harder for me yesterday, cause I was the one waitin around. He was in la la land, so he didn't really care one way or the other. He was fine today and went back to as normal.....(We still don't know what is wrong with him, but he is at least NOT having the pain in his side).
One good thing I did yesterday was read my last three issues of Country Sampler! I never seen to have the time to do much more than look at the pictures, but I actually read the articles that I was interested in. I loved the ones about my friend Karen of KM Primitives and Linda from my Behind My Red Door. They both had so many ideas that my brain has been in a tizzy all day trying to come up with some new ideas for my home.
One of the things that I have been working on is this little table that I found a couple of years ago for $7.50. It has sat in my garage unpainted and unloved for way too long! Finally, I got it antiqued today! One day last week I put the first coat of paint on and wasn't REAL thrilled with it. Then I got busy and forgot about it. One evening I went out to the garage to cut wood and worked on it a little more. It started growing on me...LOL! And today I love it!! It really turned out better than I thought it was going to. I was originally going to paint it black, but the little knobs are black and I didn't want to replace them. Sooo, I decided on this mustardy/goldy color.

This was started last spring....

First coat of paint last week.....

Finally finished today!!!

I still have lots to do this evening, so I'm gonna run for now.....

Until then.

Hugs and Blessings,

Shari

ApRil GiVEAwaY and SaTurdAY RoaD TRiP

Hey Y'all!
Happy Monday! I don't know about the rest of y'all, but we had a drastic change in the weather today. It has been so VERY nice here for the past several days, just like SPRING! We woke to pouring rain and howling winds this morning! Seriously thought for a minute that I might be in Kansas! After the 70 plus degrees on Sat. and Sun., the temps are dipping into the 40's or below tonite. One local weather guy even mentioned snow flurries!
But on to other news....
This is the April giveaway over at my web site! A fabulous package with a black basket filled with mini pillows, homespun cat pillow, Cinnabun room spray, grungy tapers, mini stenciled sign and a jar with a homespun cover, filled with rosehips. I think almost anyone would love this to add to their prim collection!!

April Giveaway Package .....

Also over at my web site, you can save 20% on your order thru the 13th of April. Check it out as I will be adding new goodies all this week.

I also wanted to share our little road trip on Sat. Bill wanted to go eat breakfast at Cracker Barrel in Clemmons, which is not too far, but a little farther than we normally go to eat. He thought that we needed to drive his car since it never gets driven anymore. He got a company car several months ago and we really don't drive his car much anymore. I think the Taurus sat in the garage for a full 3 weeks without being moved. ( It actually had tons of sawdust where I have been cutting wood and sanding out there. I'm sure that some little ol man or woman must've wondered what the heck was on the car. At least it gave them something to talk about. Hee Hee!!)

Anyway, after eating breakfast we went to Statesville to get candy. Yes....candy! Not just any ole candy, but Russell Stover Candy! (I don't even know how far it is from our home, but it is a pretty good drive.) One of our favorites is the Pecan Clusters and we bought a box of 36, shaped like eggs !!! YUMMY!! They are such a treat for me!

Outlet Store in Statesville....the sky really was that BLUE on Sat.

Really cute sign out front....
Bag that lists all the stores. Do you see one near you???

We bought enough to get TWO bags this trip. A couple of gifts (won't spoil the surprise just yet)!

and TA DA!!! Our all time favorite!!!!!

It really was a lovely day for us. I say we are so EASY to please these days. We have finally learned to enjoy the simple things and to take a little time to notice the trees, flowers and even the turkeys across the street at our neighbors, but especially each other! After 30+ years it's still nice to spend the day together doing nothing in particular, but taking a drive and buying candy.....

Until next time.

Hugs and Blessings,

Shari

SPeCiAL FiNDS FrOM FriDAy

HAPPY SUNDAY, Y'ALL!

Beautiful weather on this Sunday afternoon in K-ville. The temps are in the high 70's with lots and lots of sunshine! The wind is barely blowing now, but we have had our fair share of gusts in the past few days.

I meant to get these pictures posted yesterday, but we had such a busy day that I never found the time to do it.....anyway here goes

I know it's the wrong time of year, but I couldn't pass up this fabulous reproduction sled that looks as if it were made from old barnwood....

the detail is wonderful....it would be soooo cute with a doll, bear and pillows, don't ya think??? Maybe I'll try that later this week.

A grungy work table that looks as if it were left outside at Grandma's house. I think it will make a great display piece in our booth....maybe with crates stacked on top????

And these are my absolute favorite find on Friday!! I hope to make these into a trash (can) and a recycle container. I just need to cut circles for lids, get clear liners and I'm all set. Would love to have had OLD ones, but the larger size you would need to do that, would be upwards of 300.00! Too much for my budget....so I think these will work nicely. Linda from my Behind my Red Door blog ( http://behindmyreddoor.blogspot.com/ ) has old ones and they are wonderful. Check out her picture trail and you can see them on picture 29...

It will be several days before I can get to this project, as Hubby is going to have a few tests on Tuesday and he'll be home tomorrow. Normally, I don't get a whole lot accomplished when he's around, but we'll see. I have several orders to work on plus a nice size wholesale order that needs to be shipped soon. I'll post pics when I get the lids made regardless......
More to share soon!
Until then.
Hugs and Blessings,
Shari
