Feeling like FALL.......

I think FALL is finally trying to arrive in K-ville! It actually has cooled off and it just feels like Fall is close by. Personally, I like the cooler days...it has been so hot here this summer. It's nice to see folks bringing out their Fall decor and pumpkins. For a while there, I thought no one else was going to....

~~~~~~~~~
I decided the other day to cut up one of my quilts to make some things. I had pondered for months on what to make out of it....wanted to have a plan before I cut it. Finally decided on a few pin keeps, pillows and a few new things.
Sawdust Pillows....
wood star with old quilt pocket.....
muslin sheep with old quilt pocket.....
Last week, I got around to making this bear....I have been wanting to make one for ages and just never got around to it. I found this piece of plush felt that I have moved around to several different houses and decided it was time. The pattern is from Sweet Meadows Farm...I realize that mine looks different than the pattern, but I think he's pretty cool anyway....
I made his legs floppy so he could be posed in different positions. There's another one in the works...just needs eyes. I'll share him later.
Well, chilli's cooking and almost ready to eat, so I'm gonna run for now! Thanks for stopping by and I would love to hear from you guys!!
Shari
Last Tuesday in June...........
Good morning, Folks! Hope you all having a good week so far. Yesterday, was hot and busy in K-ville. With the daily specials that I have bee running all month, I am very busy for this time of year! And I love it!! It's way too hot outside for me and staying in the house, sewing and painting is just fine with me.
Today, is going to be another busy for me. Lots and lots of sewing to be done. But first, hubby and I are going out to breakfast and by Lowes to pick up a few pieces of wood. It's almost too warm to work out in the garage workshop , but there are peg boards, signs and table servers to be made!!
MuCH WorK on WedNEsDAy....
First of all, a big Thank you to all the folks that have entered my Web Site Giveaway for June (so far).........the 5th Anniversary of my web site is coming up on June 18th. In celebration, I thought it would be nice to have a really special giveaway for it. That's why I chose the items that I did. I had no idea that the Prize Package would be such a big hit. Remember everytime you leave a comment, YOU'RE ENTERED!! Plus you can send me an email..........
~~~~~~~~~~
Okay, on to other things............this is one of the things that I made today. I would love to get it on my web site, but I don't have a clue what to call it. Any ideas??? It is really kinda cool. I saw one similiar hanging near a fireplace, but you could hang it anywhere.

Also, I made this the other day and stained it today. My sister wanted one so I thought I would give it a shot. It pretty neat too. I think I'll call this a "Standing Towel Bar". Perfect for a tea towel or just a piece of homespun. A jar candle would be nice with it or grungy tapers, maybe.

~~~~~~~~~~
Whew!! Finally finished up this order that I have been working on (off and on) for over a week! I have to say, everything looks so GOOD! You know how sometimes things just work out and fall into place....this was one of those times.
Pillows, Dolls, Sheep, sheep and more sheep..........
Signs and more............
Big Ol' Eme Lou and more signs...........
Gracie, Dusting caps and Dresses.....
And Finally, three table benches in assorted colors!
It's beginning to be a little stormy out, so I'll be going for now...
Hugs,
Shari
Thursday
It's already Thursday and I haven't accomplished near what I needed to for the week. Decided to stop what I was doing and make Country Ham, eggs and biscuits for dinner. Sometimes, we just need a change and breakfast for dinner is a good choice for a rainy, chilly Thursday.
I'm finished up this jumbo (about 16 x 11 inches) sheep pillow today & am so pleased with the way it turned out. A really nice size that you could use on a small chair, shelf or even hang on the wall. It's made from tea dyed muslin with painted face and button eye. The homespun star is hand-stitched on & the rusty bell is attached with a tiny piece of wire. Just Too Cute!!
Well, the biscuits are almost done and I still have a few things to do before bedtime. Look for this soon on my web site!
Until next time.
Hugs,
Shari
