SPeCiAL FiNDS FrOM FriDAy

HAPPY SUNDAY, Y'ALL!

Beautiful weather on this Sunday afternoon in K-ville. The temps are in the high 70's with lots and lots of sunshine! The wind is barely blowing now, but we have had our fair share of gusts in the past few days.

I meant to get these pictures posted yesterday, but we had such a busy day that I never found the time to do it.....anyway here goes

I know it's the wrong time of year, but I couldn't pass up this fabulous reproduction sled that looks as if it were made from old barnwood....

the detail is wonderful....it would be soooo cute with a doll, bear and pillows, don't ya think??? Maybe I'll try that later this week.

A grungy work table that looks as if it were left outside at Grandma's house. I think it will make a great display piece in our booth....maybe with crates stacked on top????

And these are my absolute favorite find on Friday!! I hope to make these into a trash (can) and a recycle container. I just need to cut circles for lids, get clear liners and I'm all set. Would love to have had OLD ones, but the larger size you would need to do that, would be upwards of 300.00! Too much for my budget....so I think these will work nicely. Linda from my Behind my Red Door blog ( http://behindmyreddoor.blogspot.com/ ) has old ones and they are wonderful. Check out her picture trail and you can see them on picture 29...

It will be several days before I can get to this project, as Hubby is going to have a few tests on Tuesday and he'll be home tomorrow. Normally, I don't get a whole lot accomplished when he's around, but we'll see. I have several orders to work on plus a nice size wholesale order that needs to be shipped soon. I'll post pics when I get the lids made regardless......
More to share soon!
Until then.
Hugs and Blessings,
Shari

MaRKeT PLAce BOOth.....

Hi Y'all!

Sorry, I have been away for so long! Can't believe that a week has passed! It's getting harder and harder for me to sit at my computer! Just too much to do...I have been putting every spare minute into the Market Place Booth and my booth at Just Plain Country in Walnut Cove. Here are a few random pictures from the new booth. It's really coming together for us. Deb found the old swing and it's perfect for dolls and pillows. Retha brought in old shutters over the weekend that are wonderful....would be perfect in a prim corner.

Table stocked with everything prim! Old swing with dolls.

It's kinda hard to see all the goodies, but it is definately filling up!

Pegboard wall with a little of this and that! Other side of booth with a table Full!

There's really a fantastic variety there now. And we are having our first ever Spring Giveaway. We were asking folks to guess how many jelly beans in a jar, but someone actually opened the jar and helped themself to some of the beans, so I suppose it will just be a drawing! Too funny!! The prize is a handmade pillow with Spring Tyme stitched on it with pastel homespun borders. No purchase necessary to enter, so if you're in the area.....be sure and enter.

Bookcase with goodies and handmade signs.

Off to Walnut Cove to take some special orders.............

Be back soon with some pictures to share.

Until then.

Hugs,

Shari

NeW FoR SunDAy....

It has been an almost perfect Sunday in K-ville. The birds are singing, the sun has been shining and the temperature has been in the 60's. The kind of day where you almost have to be outside, at least a little bit. I sat out with Mr. Ruffie for a short time and Bill put a huge bag of fertilizer on the lawn. We have been in and out, here and there for most of the day. Now, I need to think about what to make for dinner. Something quick and easy....maybe soup ( I have some homemade vegeatable beef soup in the freezer), sandwiches and chips. We had a pretty big breakfast at the local diner and for lunch I made a roast with mashed potatoes and tossed salad. So, I think dinner can be skimpy for us this evening.

This is the featured 1/2 off item on my web site for this week.... check it out here if you're interested:

This is new for today. I sell these almost as fast as I get them on my site. This one is in really pretty shades of blue and burgandy....it fits so nicely on a doorknob. You can find it here:

Did you notice that I put an updated pic of Alex and Miss Elle in the side bar? They are getting sooooooo big and grown up. Alex will be 5 on April 15th and Elle is almost 3.........

Tomorrow promises to be another busy day for me. (And I am so glad!) I already have my To-Do list made up and ready to go.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Until next time.

a SpEciAL SaTuRDaY FiND!

I know it's been a while since I have been around, but it has been a kind of a screwy week for me.....the rain came and stayed and stayed and stayed, Bill has been feeling poorly, Cait still hasn't found a full time job, I have several orders to catch up on and I have just flat out had a pity party, I think????
I read on a blog the other day about how all this should be fun and not to feel pressured in to posting everyday so...I took it literally. Sometimes, I really don't have the time and sometimes I just get tired of the computer and have step away for a few days. I think that is what happened this week. So, finally yesterday, enough already and I took the day for ME. I went shopping, got a couple of new tops, got my hair trimmed and found a few things, including a stitchery and a cute little water pitcher. It helped tremendously!!! Got up today with a whole different attitude and had a very, very productive day. Bill and I went to Walnut Cove AND to the Market Place in Greensboro, (took room sprays plus a few other things) had a fabulous lunch together and EVEN did a little shopping together.............But, enough of that. This is what I want to share today!

I was sitting here this morning (working on my dreaded taxes) waiting on Bill to get home and just happened to remember about some Fabulous Eggs that his Grandmother Cynthie had given to us many years ago. She had colored these along with her sister Elsie, years and years ago.....(Bill remembers them coming out in the Spring since he was a little boy. They weren't allowed to touch them, because they are so fragile, but he remembers them all the same.) All different sizes and colors......some were blown out and some have a slight rattle inside. All of them are so neat and I can appreciate the work and detail that went into them. Some of the colors are so vivid, but then some have faded. It didn't really matter back then what the colors were...pinks, purples, yellow, orange, teal green and more. No color schemes to match, LOL!! They were done with wax and dipped in different dyes in different stages. A few have very faint initials (no dates, though) And some more intricate details.....
I'm hoping that my children and grandchildren will treasure these as much as I do....the glass bowl is from Grandma Cynthie as well. Perfect to display her beautiful eggs.........
Until next time.
Hugs and Blessings,
Shari

ANoThER DRiPPy, DrOOpy DAy...

Woke up to another rainy day in K-ville. Now mind you, I can usually handle a day or two of less than desirable weather, but for some reason I am having a hard time getting my rear in gear the past few days. Too many clouds, too much rain and just plain COLD! I haven't wanted to do much of anything and as always I have a list a mile long....

Bill and I spent yesterday at the Drs. office. This time with him getting a cat scan. He has been feeling poorly since he had the flu in late January. In all of our years together, I can count on ONE hand the times he has been sick. I am little concerned, but I am trying not to worry too much.

I did change this weeks feature on my web site this morning............
This is a fabulous sign and a fabulous price! It's actually one of my favorites and I have sold tons of them. You can find it here if you're interested:
http://www.homespunandprimitives.com/store/WsDefault.asp?One=614

I've had a good week on my web site and most of the OOAK sale items are gone, as well as the Old Quilt Gathering. I'll be adding a few new things on Monday or Tuesday, so be sure and check back.

This might be a good time to Thank you all for following my blog and signing my guestbook at the bottom of the page. I recently realized that have been quite a few folks that stopped by to say Hi! It's a warm, fuzzy feeling to know that so many take time out of their busy lives to let me know they have been here. I think it's neat and I appreciate it. And by the way, every time you comment, I enter you in my monthly web site contest!!

I also have a blogging Question or two....Maybe a stupid one, but oh well. How do I get the blogs that I am following in my sidebar? You know like so many have, with a thumb nail picture and the time they last posted. Also, how do most of you reply to comments? Do you directly email them or post a reply? I am still not REAL familiar on how to much more than posting. I welcome any inside info....

I'm gonna try to do some stitcheries, so that's all for now. I'll be back soon.

Hugs,
Shari

SHaRi'S FRidAy FAvoRitES!

Today, I am sharing a couple of things that you might have seen before.........several months ago, I found this wonderful crock at the Rusty Bucket in Apex and have never done anything with it. It has been sitting in my extra room doing nothing! I was sitting at my computer the other day and decided it would be really nice in the foyer at the front door.

It's such a lovely crock and I would love to have a few more...anyone out there in blogland sell this style? I already had the greenery with little burgandy berries and it fits perfect in the corner.

Another little re-do this week came about with the trade earlier in the week with Rondell...

I decided to do the crock bench just for everyday for a little bit. It won't be long till I do it for Easter, but for now I want to show off a few of my other favorite finds....(Boy, do I need to paint the outlet cover, maybe this weekend and I'm thinking about painting the bench as well....Black, maybe???)

And finally, I have been wanting to do the top of my refrigerator for weeks with something a little different. This is what I came up with for now. Most of the stuff I already had including the decoupage print that coordinates with my border. The other treasures came from other locations throughout my house.

It actually looks pretty good in person.

That's about it for today...on a different note, we didn't get the freezing rain, but we did get the freezing temps. I had a really hard time getting my rear in gear today! Lots to accomplish this weekend, including getting over to the Market Place to take some new goodies! Wish you all could come and see!

Until next time.

Hugs,

Shari
