Tuesday evening.........

I think it's finally beginning to feel a bit like FALL  in K-ville!! It turned out to be a rather nice Tuesday afternoon .

Just listed this little guy on my web site and wanted to share it with you all.....

One of a kind, designed by me. I sculpted the head out of paper clay and made the hat to fit. The cone is painted black with a bit of sparkle. I love the way it turned out!

Friday night...

I haven't posted since Tuesday and what an interesting three days I have had. Hubby shared his cold with me and it has really knocked me on my fanny!! Yet again, I have another illness. Felt like I had been run over by a truck for several days and then yesterday, woke up with NO sound coming out of my mouth. When I say no sound, I mean no sound! My poor kittys didn't know what had happened to me...they wanted no part of being in the same room with me. But, today it's better, not all the way, but at least I can hear myself. I have promised myself that I am going to be all well by tomorrow!! (Mind over matter???)

Monday.......

Just finished this Scarerow-Witch and wanted to share with you all! Believe me this is not one of my normal creations....a Special order for a friend.
What do you think?

I just finished up the pumpkin as well......it's one of those carvable kind from Michael's. I had stored it in my attic and I suppose it got too hot and split. Instead of throwing it away, I glued it back together, filled it in with wood filler, sanded it, painted it with two coats of Georgia Clay paint and antiqued it with Dark Walnut minwax. A lot of work, but it looks great!!

Sunday morning.......

Hello, blogging buddies! It's been well over a week since I sat down and attempted to write a post. And here I am again...I have been busy this week and didn't seem to accomplish much of anything of any significance. Hubby has been on vacation, yet again!! I'm beginning to think he's home more than he works, but lately, I just try to forget he's hanging around.
We cleaned up outside a bit and trimmed some bushes and I cleaned my front porch so I could bring out a few Fall things. Not going to do as much this year, inside or out. It's too much effort to pack things away just to decorate for Fall. And besides this year, we have these two kittens that are into everything!! Worse than children, I do believe! I have had to put away my wonderful woodland tree that I decorate for all the seasons. They were trying to climb it and would take ornaments off and hide them, so after awhile, I decided it was best put up in the attic.

Friday.......

I made it! to Friday that is! It has been quite a week for me....I spent alot of time with my parents this week. My Dad has been having some health issues and the most important thing was for me to be with them. Everything hopefully will be fine in a few more days, but my Dad is nearing 80 and my Mom is close behind.  Any time with them is time well spent. You never have regrets if you put your family first.

I have worked on some new goodies and orders this week and have finally gotten caught up from vacation......my craft booths got some much needed TLC as well. Not a lot, but a bit. If all goes well, I want to re-do the booth in Pilot Mountain soon. I know Tammy is going to have some fabulous new pieces and a Fall Open House in September and I want my booth (with Terri) to look wonderful.

 We've had another lovely day in NC. I almost hate to see the weekend  be over. I've been busy working on a few orders and on a some new items......wish there were more hours in my days! Just can't seem to get enough accomplished sometimes. New for Saturday....

Hope everyone is having a great weekend, so far! It's beautiful here in NC, although a little warm. Hubby mowed the grass and I was out in the workshop cutting a few pieces of wood for a new project. We're all done now and as I am resting, thought I would share this new doll.

Friday night witch, oh my........

I just about missed making this post for today....I have only a few minutes, but wanted to share with ya'll my first ever Make-do Doll!!!

I hope folks will like her....I totally designed her and even made the little witches hat. I loved making her, so I already have a few more started. One with candy corn on a stick, one for everyday with a calico dress and sheep and lastly another one for everyday, dressed in homespun with folk art flower.

Saturday morning, giveaway winner and rambling....

Well, another week has flown by and I haven't accomplished (near) what I needed to....the beginning of the week was pretty much taken up with Dr's. appointments. I was supposed to start a new treatment for my blood problem, but by the time Wednesday rolled around, I had talked myself and my oncologist out of it. After attempting it on Monday and Tuesday, I thought it best not to try on Wednesday. Maybe, someone was trying to tell me something, huh??? So, after careful thought and consideration, we have decided to try a new medication and see what the numbers show in 30 days and then again in 60 days.

This has been an all day process for me trying to make this post....I keep getting interrupted and can't seem to find the time to sit back down. I wanted to finally announce the July Giveaway Winner!! It took a little time to hear back from the winner, because she was on vacation. I have been so busy that I haven't thought of anything to do for August, so I think I will take a break for a month or two. It's so hard trying to keep up with all the entries and making sure that everyone gets their name in the HAT.... I have made promises that I am going to slow down the pace and this is the beginning.

Another way that I am trying to slow down is making everything that will fit and can be shipped in priority boxes from the post office. You can't imagine how much time is spent trying to find boxes to ship signs, shelves and odd shaped items in.  And the cost to do it!!! It's totally out of control...I have flat rate shipping charges and it used to work out. Nowadays, maybe  10% of the time, my flat rate covers the shipping. The fabric items work out most of the time, but 4 orders this week  cost me more than what was charged. I'm sure that everyone is running into the same problems as me, any ideas??

Monday evening...

As I am sitting here, making my to-do list for Tuesday, I realize that Bill will be going back to work after being home for 10 days. Six of those days were vacation....for him, not for me. Love him to death, but it's really hard for me to take off as much as he does. So I have gotten to the point that I work around him. Although this week, he has worked almost non-stop on the computers. Finally, everything is put back where it belongs and I am trying to figure all this out. 
Tomorrow will be a busy day for me filled with cutting out wood, sanding and painting. Plus I'll be sewing a few dolls, patchwork runners, pillows and more. Orders will have to be dropped off at the post office and UPS. (I usually don't ship anything that will have to sit through a holiday at the post office or terminal).

I wanted to show y'all the crosstitch piece that I started and FINISHED in one day. I love how it turned out!! Let me tell ya, I think I have forgotten more than I thought I had. It's been at 25 years since I have stitched like this. I actually enjoyed doing it, and  couldn't seem to put it down. I finally went to bed about 1:45 this morning.

Before anyone can say this....I know I cut the fabric almost too small.  I am going to make it into a pinkeep and if I have to, I'll add some strips of fabric around the edges before I sew it together. Don't you love the colors???? I think it'll be even better after it's tea-dyed..... Just didn't have time to work on it today. Should I put my initials like we did back in the olden days?

Today's New Fall Item.......

Whew!! Finally got my web site to work!!! It had been up and down since last evening. I actually thought Hubby had done something, because as of today, we have a brand, stinking new server for our house computers. Bill has spent the better part of this WHOLE week building a server from scratch. He has loaded mine with Windows 7, instead of the Vista that I had just got used to.....we'll have to see how that's gonna work out for me.

Last Tuesday in June...........

Good morning, Folks! Hope you all having a good week so far. Yesterday, was hot and busy in K-ville. With the daily specials that I have bee running all month, I am very busy for this time of year! And I love it!! It's way too hot outside for me and staying in the house, sewing and painting is just fine with me.

Today, is going to be another busy for me. Lots and lots of sewing to be done. But first, hubby and I are going out to breakfast and by Lowes to pick up a few pieces of wood. It's almost too warm to work out in the garage workshop , but there are peg boards, signs and table servers to be made!!

A few more things that I re-did the other day....

This peg rack was an UGLY plae blue....I ainted it black and then dry brushed burgandy all over. Really nice effect....

Quilt shelf was originally stained.....looks great painted black with maybe just some pieces of homespun or old linens hanging on the bar......

I found this in an antique store in VA. It was brown enamel paint. Sanded it a little and painted it black and think I'll make a little sawdust pillow to lay on top.
