Monday evening...

As I am sitting here, making my to-do list for Tuesday, I realize that Bill will be going back to work after being home for 10 days. Six of those days were vacation....for him, not for me. Love him to death, but it's really hard for me to take off as much as he does. So I have gotten to the point that I work around him. Although this week, he has worked almost non-stop on the computers. Finally, everything is put back where it belongs and I am trying to figure all this out.
Tomorrow will be a busy day for me filled with cutting out wood, sanding and painting. Plus I'll be sewing a few dolls, patchwork runners, pillows and more. Orders will have to be dropped off at the post office and UPS. (I usually don't ship anything that will have to sit through a holiday at the post office or terminal).

~~~~~~~~~~
I wanted to show y'all the crosstitch piece that I started and FINISHED in one day. I love how it turned out!! Let me tell ya, I think I have forgotten more than I thought I had. It's been at 25 years since I have stitched like this. I actually enjoyed doing it, and  couldn't seem to put it down. I finally went to bed about 1:45 this morning.
Before anyone can say this....I know I cut the fabric almost too small.  I am going to make it into a pinkeep and if I have to, I'll add some strips of fabric around the edges before I sew it together. Don't you love the colors???? I think it'll be even better after it's tea-dyed..... Just didn't have time to work on it today. Should I put my initials like we did back in the olden days?
~~~~~~~~~~

This was the Fall item for today:

Loved how this turned out as well.

Grungy Pantry Towel with Handstitched Pumpkin
I love the center loop for hanging......

~~~~~~~~~~
And in closing....I thought y'all might want to see how these bonnets look hanging on a peg....This is a shelf in my hallway and it's hard to get a picture, but I think you can get the jest of it. I love, love, love it! When I get a chance, I'm making ME a batch of them! All different colors, fabrics and sizes!
Gonna run for now.
Be back soon.
Another busy and beautiful day in Kernersville....I had lots that I wanted to get accomplished today, but I got such a late start that most of my TO-DO list will be waiting for me. Bill has been working on the (computer)servers, trying to transfer everything to the new ones. A much bigger task than he thought, I'm sure. My computer was down for a while again today, but he got it up and running better than ever.
~~~~~~~~~

As I was trying to figure out what to do for the July Giveaway, I decided it was time for a Gift Certificate. I haven't done that in awhile, so.......

Today's New Fall Item.......

Whew!! Finally got my web site to work!!! It had been up and down since last evening. I actually thought Hubby had done something, because as of today, we have a brand, stinking new server for our house computers. Bill has spent the better part of this WHOLE week building a server from scratch. He has loaded mine with Windows 7, instead of the Vista that I had just got used to.....we'll have to see how that's gonna work out for me.

~~~~~~~~~~
This is the new Fall item for today! Love, love, love it!!
OOAK~Olde Sack made from Vintage Quilt designed and made by my sister, Elaine from
You can find it here:
There's only one, so grab it while you can!!!
(All her handmade goodies on her blog are for sale, unless marked unavailable or sold.)
Gotta run for now, got flowers and bonnets cooking! Be back later!!
Shari
Too cool with the long stick stem........
Yesterday, Bill and I had a few errands to do and while we were in Greensboro we went to lunch at a local barbeque restaurant. I hadn't been there literally in years and it was so good. They don't have a huge menu, but what they have is really good. Bill had chopped barbeque, slaw, hushpuppies and strawberry cobbler for dessert. I had a bowl of Brunswick stew...it was 90 degrees and I had stew. LOL!! But, I absolutely love the way they make theirs with barbeque, chicken and all kinds of veggies. We also had to pick up a few things at JoAnn fabrics and the computer store.
I found these at 50% off to hang in my craft room...as soon as it gets painted, that is.
JUMBO BUTTONS
These are too cute. I have never seen these in a store before.
JoAnn had this little critter as well, for 60% off!! We both loved it as soon as we saw it!! He will eventually live under our Crepe Myrtle tree....(notice all the snowflake looking blooms). He really looks real sitting there.
Well, it is almost 10:00 am and we haven't been to breakfast yet! Gotta run for now!!
Shari
Tuesday~FALL SWAP Arrived
My package arrived today from a FALL SWAP that I'm participating in over at Diane's community. (http://aprimitivejourney.proboards106.com/) You should really check it out if you get a chance. A great group of gals over there, and it is so much fun to see what's going on!
But, anyway back to this swap~~ Robin Weins of
http://www.buttoneyed-annie.com/store/Default.asp sent me this fabulous collection of Fall goodies! I've never met the lady, but she was right on the mark with all my favorites! The scarecrow doll is just wonderful! We named him Sam. The Annie doll has already been added to my Fall tree. The spray is one of my all-time favorite scents, Blueberry Muffins! The little candle light is such a clever idea and will be going on my crock bench in the foyer. Even the card is a special keepsake & just lovely. I know it must be handmade and I've been looking around the house for a frame to put it in. I have the perfect spot for it on my sofa table.
The little magnets are already on my fridge as well! Wish y'all could see all this!
Needless to say, I am thrilled with everything and Thank you so much Robin!
Until next time.
Hugs,
Shari
Fall at the Freshwater's
It was another Fall~ like day in K-ville, until this evening when it started to rain.
The grandkids came by for a short & unexpected visit today! They liked the baby pumpkins!
I tried to get some outside pictures of my Fall decorating, but it was still a little gloomy to get any really good pics. This is the jest of it & I will try to get some more when the weather gets a little brighter. I will probably keep adding things as I find them anyway, so y'all can keep updated.
Corn Stalks on the Lamp Post along with the 2 baby pumpkins!
Looks like the grass needs mowing. LOL!! It grows like crazy with this weather.
Next, is my Fall garden flag and a beautiful Mum that I found at our local Farmer's Market. We have a fabulous Crepe Myrtle tree that is huge. The bark on it is so unique. A friend of mine used some for a scrapbooking project.
Front entryway~I made the wreath, pillows and the sign.
It really says WELCOME to everyone!
I went to see my friend, Mary at Down Home Country Store this afternoon. She has gotten in some fabulous old & vintage items in her store. Maybe, she'll show us some of the goodies on her web site~
http://www.downhomecountrystore.com/
Gonna run for now, but I'll try to get more pics soon.
Until next time.
Fall Decorated Foyer
Here are some pics of my front foyer decorated for Fall. It's a little narrow, so it's difficult to take photos. Maybe you can get the jest of it....
Me and a dear friend made the crock bench several years to fit this space.
Sorry for the glare on the Fall picture. I took tons of pics trying to get it right and just couldn't.
Most of the "stuff" here was made by me. The wood pumpkins & tea towel, I made yesterday along with the Fall Blessings shelf sitter blocks, the calico pumpkin & flat pumpkin. Cait found the clear jug wrapped with rusty wire and a star at a flea market when she was like 15. The grungy orange tapers were from last week. I have only a few sets left. They really turned out fabulous!
Will be posting more soon.
Until next time.
Hugs,
Shari
Nice Day Today!
When we were going to breakfast this morning it was kinda cool outside, but nice & sunny. Bill mentioned that I would be wearing long pants, instead of capri pants before long. Fall is just around the corner!
Saturday's have turned into just another work day for me. I had three orders to finish up & ship for today. Going to the post office in a little while, but for now, I am watching an old John Wayne movie on AMC. This is something that I NEVER, and I do mean never do. But, I am enjoying it for now.
Working on a few more new items today, but not sure if I can finish them up. I have all this Fall fabric, but probably won't have time to use it all. Look for pics, maybe by Monday.
Thinking about what I can add to my Etsy store. I haven't had much of a chance to work on it lately, but I hope to add a few different things in the next few days. A lot of folks are doing really well on there. A great alternative to EBAY.
Until next time,
Shari ♥
Fall
I can't believe another week has come and gone.
I HAVE to get a few things made tomorrow for FALL! Lots of folks are asking for new FALL Goodies and they're probably getting tired of waiting. My new wreath has done very well so far and my new sprays are doing very well!! My friend Retha (from Cinnamon Creek Primitives) came over yesterday and we tried to get some Halloween things made, but we didn't get much accomplished. I think I'll make a couple of pumpkins and maybe a doll and some pillows. I have purhased some beautiful co-ordinating prints and I MUST use them. A punkin do is also on the list.
Check back to see what I actually get done. LOL!!
On a sadder note, I found out recently that one of my craft malls are closing. My dear friend Robin has decided to move in another direction and close the store. It makes me so sad to think that she will not be there after September. I have had a booth in her quaint little store since 1999.
I suppose I will have more time and energy to put into my web site, but I will miss her terribly! But, I wish her all the best!
hugs,
Shari
