In my family, it is tradition to eat ham, blackeyed peas and greens on New Years Day. I have already cooked the ham this morning and made potato salad and deviled eggs. I'll finish up the greens and peas shortly. My Mom called and they are coming by for a visit. They haven't seen the new kittys and thought today would be good. I invited them to eat, because we have plenty.
Today is also the day I traditionally take down our Christmas Tree. I have pretty much packed everything else up and re-organized it all. Ever since we were first married, I have left my tree up until Jan. 1st...don't really know why. Good luck, maybe??? It always makes me a little sad when I do the un-decorating...
But, it's nice to have my everyday goodies back out.
Well, I figured this post would take me all day and sure enough, it's almost 9:30 and I haven't finished. We had a great meal and visit with my parents, phone calls from both kids wishing us a Happy New Year and all in all, I couldn't ask for a nicer start to 2010! But, I honestly didn't think it would take me this long to post. I promise I'm almost finished...just wanted to add one more thing.
