early Tuesday morning...........

HAPPY TUESDAY!

After having a cold, rainy, Winterlike Monday, I am looking forward to sunshine today or at least soon. We really needed some rain, but maybe not this much in such a short time. I know it could be much worse, as it has been in some areas around us.

But, on to why I'm here so early. Today is the big day! I'm going to see if I can get a root canal. (Not a big deal, huh?) Y'all remember a few weeks ago,  when I tripped over Jake and broke one tooth and cracked another??? It has taken me this long to get it fixed. I'm hoping I don't freak out.....Keep me (and the Dr.) in your thoughts....

I'll be back later with more pics.
Thanks to all that have purchased from my blog and a special Thank you to all that have signed up for the May giveaway! It is truly astonishing to me all the folks that are interested!! Keep the emails and comments  coming---Might be the most yet to enter!

Hugs,
Shari

OKAY, here we go..........

This gal has been a customer almost as long as Homespun and Primitives has been open. We first got to know each other when I was just starting out and selling a few things on Ebay years ago. She lived in California at the time, but has now settled in Kentucky. Her name is Kathy M. from Berea, KY. Congratulations!! Kathy doesn't have a blog, but promises to send pics so I can post them. She has decided to go with a burgandy spoon cupboard to match another shelf that I had made for her last year. I'll get it shipped ASAP!

New Year's Day.............

First of all, I hope everyone had a safe New Years Eve. I realize at this stage of my life...it's hard to stay up late and get up early. It's already mid morning on this beautiful, sunny day and I have so much to do. I'm already behind schedule. (This may be one of those posts that takes me all day to get finished.)
In my family, it is tradition to eat ham, blackeyed peas and greens on New Years Day. I have already cooked the ham this morning and made potato salad and deviled eggs. I'll finish up the greens and peas shortly. My Mom called and they are coming by for a visit. They haven't seen the new kittys and thought today would be good. I invited them to eat, because we have plenty.
Today is also the day I traditionally take down our Christmas Tree. I have pretty much packed everything else up and re-organized it all. Ever since we were first married, I have left my tree up until Jan. 1st...don't really know why. Good luck, maybe??? It always makes me a little sad when I do the un-decorating...
But, it's nice to have my everyday goodies back out.
Well, I figured this post would take me all day and sure enough, it's almost 9:30 and I haven't finished. We had a great meal and visit with my parents, phone calls from both kids wishing us a Happy New Year and all in all, I couldn't ask for a nicer start to 2010! But, I honestly didn't think it would take me this long to post. I promise I'm almost finished...just wanted to add one more thing. For my January Giveaway, it will be this:

A fabulous spoon rack with chicken wire backing...comes complete with three assorted wood spoons, two cutting boards, grungy doily and even the grungy votive and pan! AND if you're the lucky winner you can choose the colors you want for EVERYTHING! As my hubby says, it don't get any better than that!

All you have to do is leave a comment, send me an email,
(put contest in subject line)
or sign my guestbook at the bottom of this page.
I look forward to hearing you all!!
Hugs,
Shari

Afterthought.......I have a few Christmas pics to share. Look to the left and click on the picture....
There's lots more, but I have to upgrade and I haven't had a chance...maybe tomorrow.

SepTeMBer WinnER...

Sorry it has taken me so long to get on here and post the winner for September. I have had a few problems  with my computer again. I keep getting knocked off or Internet Explorer just stops working. Don't know what the problem is, but hubby will take a look asap.

Anyhow.....there was an overwhelming amount of entries this month for the contest. In addition to the 100 plus followers here, the folks that left comments, folks that signed the guestbook and folks that just sent emails, there was well over 400 slips of paper. And lo and behold, the first one drawn was an international entry. I contacted her, but the shipping was just too much with the bench, so she passed on it. So, the winner for the SEPTEMBER CONTEST is:

Debra H. of Dothan, Alabama!!

Debra has been a long time web site customer, but hasn't gotten into  blogging yet. I'll be sending out her prize package tomorrow.

I haven't decided what to giveaway for October. Which is better, a gathering of goodies or a gift certificate, so you can choose what you want for yourself??? There are pros and cons to both....I don't always offer the same items as the giveaways, but some folks might like to pick out what they want. A dilema indeed! Please feel free to leave a comment with what you think. Plus it's another entry!!

While I'm thinking about it.....I would like to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone that is following my blog. With everyone's busy schedules, it's so nice that folks take time to come by and visit with me.

I'll be back soon, but please let me know what you would like for the giveaway!

Hugs and Fall Blessings,
Shari

Oh! and by the way...check out my new Picture Trail. Would love to have any helpful hints!

SAtURdAY in K-ViLLe

It has finally stopped raining and we actually had a nice sunny day! We had several chores around the house and I'm still dealing with the excess inventory from the Antique Marketplace Booth. My dining room has been the storage facility and it's about to drive me crazy! There's still tons of "stuff" and I don't have any extra room to store it all. Come Tuesday, I'm taking another load to Walnut Cove and see if I can get a few more things in my booth there.
~~~~~~~~~~
A little News tidbit.....my friend Deb has opened her web site, The Carolina Peddler, again! YIPEE! She has some really unique handmade items and will be slowly adding new goodies, so check it often! You can find it here:
~~~~~~~~~~
I want to explain again about entering my web site contest for June. You can leave a comment on every single post that I make and get entered, again and again! It's fine with me if you just say HI! I LOVE to hear from you guys, regardless! LOL! I'm so glad so many folks are excited about the giveaway!
~~~~~~~~~~
I've been busy most of today, so this is gonna be short for tonite. Resting (sort of) and watching a Hallmark movie.
Be back tomorrow!
Hugs,
Shari
ApRil GiVEAwaY and SaTurdAY RoaD TRiP
Hey Y'all!
Happy Monday! I don't know about the rest of y'all, but we had a drastic change in the weather today. It has been so VERY nice here for the past several days, just like SPRING! We woke to pouring rain and howling winds this morning! Seriously thought for a minute that I might be in Kansas! After the 70 plus degrees on Sat. and Sun., the temps are dipping into the 40's or below tonite. One local weather guy even mentioned snow flurries!
But on to other news....
This is the April giveaway over at my web site! A fabulous package with a black basket filled with mini pillows, homespun cat pillow, Cinnabun room spray, grungy tapers, mini stenciled sign and a jar with a homespun cover, filled with rosehips. I think almost anyone would love this to add to their prim collection!!
April Giveaway Package .....
Also over at my web site, you can save 20% on your order thru the 13th of April. Check it out as I will be adding new goodies all this week.
I also wanted to share our little road trip on Sat. Bill wanted to go eat breakfast at Cracker Barrel in Clemmons, which is not too far, but a little farther than we normally go to eat. He thought that we needed to drive his car since it never gets driven anymore. He got a company car several months ago and we really don't drive his car much anymore. I think the Taurus sat in the garage for a full 3 weeks without being moved. ( It actually had tons of sawdust where I have been cutting wood and sanding out there. I'm sure that some little ol man or woman must've wondered what the heck was on the car. At least it gave them something to talk about. Hee Hee!!)
Anyway, after eating breakfast we went to Statesville to get candy. Yes....candy! Not just any ole candy, but Russell Stover Candy! (I don't even know how far it is from our home, but it is a pretty good drive.) One of our favorites is the Pecan Clusters and we bought a box of 36, shaped like eggs !!! YUMMY!! They are such a treat for me!
Outlet Store in Statesville....the sky really was that BLUE on Sat.
Really cute sign out front....
Bag that lists all the stores. Do you see one near you???
We bought enough to get TWO bags this trip. A couple of gifts (won't spoil the surprise just yet)!
and TA DA!!! Our all time favorite!!!!!
It really was a lovely day for us. I say we are so EASY to please these days. We have finally learned to enjoy the simple things and to take a little time to notice the trees, flowers and even the turkeys across the street at our neighbors, but especially each other! After 30+ years it's still nice to spend the day together doing nothing in particular, but taking a drive and buying candy.....
Until next time.
Hugs and Blessings,
Shari
