My Christmas tree this year....

 

 

 

It's a slim line with tiny white lights. It's really pretty in person, but it's hard to get a good picture.

I didn't do much except the tree this year. Just wasn't much in the mood. Not a lot of shopping either. Some things for the grandkids, a few gift cards and I've actually made a few things for gifts this year.

I spent yesterday cleaning my guest room and came across these letters that I bought ages ago. I was going to do a collage type of thing, but could never get it to work like I wanted to...so this is what I did......

 

 

I placed the indidvidual letters over a peg rack! Looks really cool in person! Wouldn't this be so sweet over a kids bed, to spell out their name?

 

Well, I'm off to do a few things around the house and maybe take a nap, LOL!! It's pouring down rain and making me very sleepy!

Good morning ALL!

 

You know how us (professional crafters), have to always be thinking ahead, well here's some of my new goodies for after Christmas! Less than 2 weeks till Christmas Day, oh my!

 

This was a special requests for a special customer....

He's a really big guy, about 20 x 17 inches.

 

These things will be going on my web site soon...just need to figure out some prices...

 

Love pillows, now available in red and burgundy.

Grungy, painted hearts in your choice of red or burgundy!

and then we have:

 

this guy is just too prim! He's made from osnaburg and much grungier in person.

 

This is another large piece. He's about 16 inches tall and very grungy. You could keep him out year round and just change the flowers....

Only a couple of weeks left until Christmas! Hope everyone is ready! I have to say, I'm trying, but not quite there yet...

 

Finally got the trencher/bowl finished. I have been wanting to make one of these forever and have had the pattern for probably a year or maybe more. I love how it turned out! This one is going to be hard to part with....

 

It's rather large at 23 x 11 x 4.5 inches. We used a pattern by The Wooden Nail...not exactly the same as Pam's, but we're happy with it just the same. :)

 

Wouldn't this be great on table?

It's a chilly morning here Kernersville. Once again, I have gotten up way too early for a Saturday. I have so much to get done this week-end, so I guess my brain thinks I can get by on a few hours sleep. My front porch is still decorated for Fall and that definately has to go away today. Our tree will be going up in the living room as soon as we re-arrange things a bit to make room.

I'm also working on a few orders and some new things too. Hubby made a trencher/dough box last week-end, but I haven't painted it yet. It turned out great and I would love to keep it for myself, but it's already sold. Here's something new for me....

 

 



It fits on the back of your toilet. Actually pretty cool idea!

 

 

I'm looking for some ideas on what to do with this...anybody had one?

 

It's quite large and very heavy, but I think it has potential!

Thanksgiving Sale....

Happy Saturday to all! I hope that everyone had a great Thanksgiving and it continues through the week-end and always! Catey, Marc, Amity, Dave, Miss Elle, Alex, Mom, Dand and my niece Jennifer all shared a great meal together and had a chance to really catch up on the latest. It was the first time we had been together for a meal in quite a while. Everyone commented on what a nice gathering it was. Personally, I was BLESSED to have my parents with us! They are soooo special to me. They just celebrated 60 years of marriage!! Can WE even imagine that? That alone is something to be so THANKFUL for!

Before I close, I have to share two VERY SPECIAL loved ones with you all! Three years ago today these little brothers adopted us from the Guilford County shelter. I can not tell you the joy they have brought into our lives. 

Jake is the largest of the two. He is beautiful! and a Sweetheart!

 Jackson is my Baby! He is my purr-box! Always around and in my lap every chance he gets! If you ever get the chance...check out your local shelters.

Happy Thanksgiving and more pics....

Thanksgiving is almost here.....once again in the middle of my busiest time of year, I'm having folks in my house. LOL! I suppose after turkey, I can put everyone to work! Wonder who would like to do the sewing and painting? It'll be fine, I'm sure. Just need to finish up a few orders today, get the house cleaned, run to the store for last minute ingredients for a brocolli salad and make sure the turkey is ready to be cooked.

a few new things.....

I have been busy making a few new things....here's some pics

This is a big guy, over 30 inches tall and a special order for a special customer.I used a pattern from Old Homestead Barn. Love how it looks on my old shutter, but can't keep him :(

Believe it or not, this guy is pretty great in person. Over 20 inches tall and much grubbier than he looks....partially stuffed with rags for a nice heavy feel.

 

 

Nice big sign at 22(+) x 7.5 inches in size. Love the black with ivory lettering.

Thursday morning...

As I woke up bright and early this morning, I realized it's only 40 days until Christmas. I have started my shopping, but not my decorating. When I was a little girl, my Mom wouldn't have thought about decorating this soon for the Holiday...I find it strange that the big retailers have dictated to us that we have to hurry the Holiday in. I know it's sounds strange to some folks, but it seemed to be a whole lot more special when we didn't spend 2+ monthes seeing it everywhere! Just my two cents.....

Anyway, on to my fun finds...I was in JoAnn Fabrics a couple of weeks ago and found all these buttons for my jars. They're not old of course, but they are so colorful! And right around two dollars, the price was right!

The same day in an old junk store, I found the most interesting bag of spools...they're not old either, but they are kinda neat. I've never seen the little short ones or the taller ones. Not sure what I'm going to with them, mut I'll have them if anything comes up that needs a spool.

 

 

A few days later I ran across this set of bowls in my favorite Antique store and they just had to come home with me.  

 

I think I'll make a tray/box like this one for them to rest in.

 

Should I paint the bowls or not?? Haven't decided yet.

 

One more little thing and then I have to get to work....

A special order for a customer...I designed it especially for her. She hasn't gotten it yet and I'm a bit nervous over it. It's grungier than it looks and a bit far-fetched for my taste. She has extreme prim decor!

Weekend is almost over........

Good Evening All!

 

I'm hoping that everyone has had a great weekend! It's such a busy time of year with football games, Fall festivals and Fairs that sometimes we forget to enjoy our 2 days off... It was pretty nice here today, although it was a bit chilly and it actually felt very "FALLISH".  It was kind of nice to wear jeans and a jacket when we went out.

I have a picture that I would like to share from my youngest daughters' wedding back in Aug. This is part of my family including my parents on the left, my neices on the right. My older daughter, her husband and my grandchildren, the bride and groom...me and my hubby. It was such a beautiful wedding...even with the thunderstorms that arrived immediately after the ceremony.

 

Cait chose Purple and Lime Green for the colors. Quite a striking color scheme.

Saturday morning....

Good Saturday Morning!!

 

It's a beautiful morning in K-ville today! We have plans to work in the yard today...or rather Bill does. I'm still hobbling around, but doing sooooo much better! We had the yard plugged and it's all ready to be seeded and fertilized. He just got home from Lowes and all the supplies are on sale to boot!! YAY!!!

This week, I have made a few things that one of my very good customers has been after me to make for a very, very long time. She hasn't seen these (actually no one has) so I'm a bit anxious to see what you think.

 



OK, what's your honest opinions?

 

In case you can't tell, I have added patchwork borders to a bath towel, a hand towel and a washcloth. I thought the washcloth tied up with jute was a nice touch.

 

Wouldn't these be great with the patchwork toilet set that I make?

I am going to post this before I lose it all. Blogger is giving me fits this morning.

Wednesday evening....

How's everyone today? It was much nicer today with Carolina blue skies.....and just a bit of rain. I was busy all day with  two Drs. appointments, shoe shopping, grocery shopping and going out to dinner. I was in and out all day. It's funny on days like this, there doesn't seem to be time to cook, LOL!
I went to my orthopedist today...he doesn't want to see me again for 4 weeks! Yay! My foot is doing much, much better. I have been going for longer periods without my cast around the house. Not comfortable enough to venture out without it, but soon!
